NuStars for Primary School Age Athletes
We run sessions for primary school age children on Saturday mornings between 9.00am and 10.30am at Five Acres Sports Centre at Berry Hill near Coleford. We call this the NuStar group, It only costs £1 and you only pay when you come. It is not necessary to join the club or pay a fee in advance. The emphasis is placed upon fun, fun, fun and a little competition. We meet every week during term time and the holidays, please come along and have a go. In the summer we are outside and in the winter we meet in the gym.

To join the NuStars come along to the club on a Saturday or please contact: Pete Compton

There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that children involved in Athletics perform better in their studies too. This is because Athletics is an excellent way to develop self-confidence and self-discipline as well, of course, as all round physical fitness. We encourage and celebrate participation as well as excellence and unlike some other sports we develop a culture of respect and encouragement. You don't have to be an Olympian to enjoy Athletics. All of our coaches are qualified to UK Athletics standards, have passed an advanced CRB test and are subject to strict rules of child protection. We put the physical and emotional well being of our athletes first.

Junior Squad for Secondary School Age Athletes
Secondary school age boys and girls may be interested in joining our Junior Athletes. We run two groups. One group is for Sprints and Field Events; the other group is for Middle Distance and Distance Runners. In the first instance you will join our induction group to learn essential skills, training tips, warm up and injury prevention, track etiquette and health and safety aspects of athletics. Then, when we, and you, feel it is appropriate, you will be able to join one of our more advanced training groups with one of our senior coaches. We welcome everyone whatever their ability and encourage as many people as we can to compete for the club whether you take a serious approach to competitive athletics or just for the fun of it. It only costs £1 and you only pay when you come, however, if you enjoy your time with us and wish to continue training with us, we will ask you to join the club. We meet at the track every week on Tuesdays during term time and the holidays between 6.oopm and 7.30pm at Five Acres Sports Centre at Berry Hill near Coleford.
To join the Junior Athletes before coming up to the club please contact: Steve Thompson Tel: 01594 528123 or Email: steve@metatechnic.org
