Norwich Union Star:track is an outdoor fun summer athletics
coaching event for children between 9-15 years. The Forest of Dean will
be holding theirs at Five Acres Leisure Centre on 18/19 August. On Friday
20th the schemes will come together at Cheltenham. There are other schemes
in the county, ages and costs may differ.
Norwich Union Star:track is a learning experience for the young athlete
and includes competitive activities. Star:track includes a wide range
of games and activities designed to improve the running, jumping and throwing.
Skills that are the basis of all athletics disciplines. The emphasis of
the event is for children to have fun and to encourage them to take part
in and enjoy athletics as a sport.
This is just one of a series of Norwich Union Star:track events which
will be taking place in the next few weeks up and down the country. Thousands
of children are expected to join in the fun at over 300 venues. Norwich
Union Star:track is part of UK Athletics and Norwich Union’s partnership
committed to nurturing our young athletes-turning today’s kids into tomorrow’s
athletes. Who knows one of the children at our local event could be the
next Mark Lewis Francis or Paula Radcliffe!
The Forest scheme costs just £12 for the 3 days including transport
to Cheltenham on the Friday and a Norwich Union goody bag.
