FOREST OF DEAN ATHLETIC CLUB NEWSLETTER October 2005

2005 Newsletter

Welcome to the 2005 Newsletter, which provides you with a forward programme of social and competitive events for the 2005 – 06 season. It has an active social programme to compliment the competitive and not so competitive events it takes part in.

Your Club Committee After a year as Chairman, Dave Lucas is standing down. Dave now works as a full time coach for the Gloucestershire Sports Partnership. He is now involved in coaching at schools and in the community all over Gloucestershire. It therefore makes it difficult to be a committee member of one particular club. He will not however be breaking his coaching ties with the club.
Sarah Rossiter is standing down as secretary. Working as a teacher Sarah finds the day to day committee involvement difficult. She is however willing to stand as social secretary if proposed.
Lyn & Bob Park are also standing down as Race secretaries after 2 years. Martin Green is standing down as Mens Team Captain at the AGM.
I am sure everyone will join in thanking them for their efforts.

Trail Plus Marathon Camps

The camps are based at The Field Centre at Parkend.
They are designed specifically to bring Marathon beginners / intermediate runners to race day, with the utmost chance of realising their race potential. Having said that, even the experienced, faster marathoner will find the coaching content of immense benefit.
The Camps will be led and presented by a team of leading coaches and experts under Camp Director, Keith Anderson.
Whilst the Camps will be decidedly non-elite, every aspect of effective training and race preparation will be covered. There will be ample scope for the appraisal and discussion of personal schedules.
Club members are usually welcome to attend at a preferential rate but have to keep quiet about it as the Residential course members pay a lot for the privelidge.
More Information can be found on the Trail Plus Website www.trailplus.com/adidas_running_camps
